EXPLORING, WONDERING AND MUSING
As provocation of the unit, the students were encouraged to bring some outfits which demonstrated themselves. Then, they wore it and let other friends made prediction about their age, profession, characteristic based on their appearance. As follow up, the students continue discussing about traditional clothes pictures as a part of their identity and connect them to the richness of Indonesia traditional clothes.
RESEARCHING AND COLLECTING INFORMATION
EXPERIMENT AND TAKING POSSIBILITIES
When learning about fashion and appearance, the students were encouraged to sew and learn some stitches. Most of them found difficulties at first time but then enjoyed the moment of making a craft using flannel fabric.
GOING FURTHER AND DEEPENING UNDERSTANDING
To support students in preparing their summative assessment then we invited a fashion designer Ms. Intan Ayu Dewi. She explained about steps in designing a fashion which involved many areas like how to choose a fabric, the prospective consumer, and promote the product. She also shared her experience in designing clothes that applied national and international styles.
TIE DYE techniqueTie dye is one of technique in coloring and also patterning the fabric. This method came from South Kalimantan which is known as sasirangan.
