Central Idea: Throughout history, people have interacted with each other and communicated using arts.Learning outcomes:
1. How people communicate through arts 2. How arts works provide insight and information 3. The role of arts in different cultures, places, and times 4. Development of arts from time to time The students started to explore different of artworks like painting, sculpture, musical instrument, batik and many more. They observed carefully to identify the elements of arts that they can find in the artworks.
To gain more information, the students visited National Gallery and National Museum to research about how arts works have changed from time to time. It was an engaging experience as the students learned different art styles and forms. They experienced that artworks are not only painting or drawing but they can make into 3 D objects or known as installation arts. Moreover, the students also learned the timeline of visual arts by having a guest speaker from MYP and HS visual art teacher Mr. Ikun. The eras are: 1. Pre historic era 2. Abad Pertengahan 3. Abad Renaissance 4. Baroc and Roccco 5. Abad 19 6. Abad 20 7. Abad 21 Each era has unique characteristic and famous artist. It has enriched the forms and styles of different function of art works from time to time. |
Different function of artworksThe students also learned that basically there were two types of artworks. One is for pure art where it is only for displaying and has aesthetic value. While arts can be also used for another function just like ceramics that used for serving food or wood carving seats that are functioned as furniture.
