Central Idea
Exploration leads to discoveries, opportunities and new understanding
Lines of inquiry
- Reasons for exploration
- Feelings and attitudes toward exploration
- What we learn through exploration
- Methods of navigation

Learning Outcomes:
- Identify regular and irregular events in time and space that occur in the solar system
- Examine the impact of events that occur in the solar system on Earth
- Investigate and explain how stars are used for navigation
- Demonstrates an understanding of other methods of navigation (for compasses, satellites)

EXPLORING OUR SCHOOL AS PROVOCATION
The students were having Treasure Hunt as the provocation since they needed to experience how an exploration looks like, feelings and attitudes towards exploration, and reflect what they learn after exploration.
The students were grouped and got a task to be completed. They needed to read the clues and find the answer in a limited time.
It was so engaging learning experience for the students as they enjoyed and explored the school at the same time.

FIELD TRIP TO SKY WORLD
To deepen students understanding about sky exploration and regular/irregular events on earth, the students had a field trip to Sky World. They explored about galaxies and also information about timeline of living things on Earth.
SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT PREPARATION
Students are divided into 6 groups; they will choose their interest based on the learning outcomes. They will make a model about their chosen outcome after the students researched about the solar system.
Each of the students will record their observation in different forms; log book, booklet, journal. The students will have a mini exhibition to present their exploration.
Young explorer's Day
After working in groups about the exploration, the students conducted young explorer days to present about their understanding of the learning outcomes. The students also learned that there were changes in the methods of navigation in the past until present days.
